I am
very much against the mall idea on Paul Road. There is already
too much traffic on Paul road. Let's remember that there is an
elementary school right down the road from this proposed mall!
Do you want your kids going to school right down the street from
a mall? I don't!
As long as I am on the issue of traffic, is there anything we
can do about the new "The Father's House" sanctuary? They cause
enough traffic troubles already. Am I the only one who has come
close to getting into an accident because their rent-a-cop is
stopping traffic? Move the crosswalk 50 feet east so that you
are at a traffic light! One of these “super churches” went in
near my parent’s house in PA recently. It has been a nightmare!
They put in a huge church but did not do anything to help with
the added traffic. Now the town has to pay to double the size of
the road that the church is on. Do we want to pay to enlarge
Paul Road? Do we even WANT Paul road enlarged? I say no!
Seriously, is there anything we can do about that church or is
it a done deal? Anyway, I digress.
Regardless of what happens with the mall, I will take note of
whomever on the Chili Board votes for re-zoning that area and I
will NEVER vote for those individuals.
Building the proposed mall on Paul road will depreciate the
value of EVERY house on or near Paul Road. I bought my house
with re-sale value in mind. I can't even explain how upset it
will make me if this project goes through and my property value
declines. In fact, if the land is re-zoned, my wife wants us to
contact a realtor about selling our house before construction
begins.
Tracy Logel, if you are reading this, you better think long and
hard about what you are doing with this project. It will very
likely be political suicide!
Everyone else, signs are good; I am going to contact Bob Mulcahy
tomorrow to get a couple for my yard. However, I feel that there
is more we should be doing. Since I am relatively new to Chili,
I do not know the local customs. Where I am from, we would be
doing some serious lobbying and petitioning. What is the custom
here?
